Mrs McVey
Hello and welcome to Gala Class!
We are a mixed class of year 5 and 6 children. I am Mrs McVey, the class teacher and I work very closely with Mrs Mason to provide a fun, engaging and challenging curriulum for everyone. We are also supported closely by Mr Murray, our well-being lead.
Our class values are aspire and resilience, two values that are very important as we make our way through our final years at primary school.
In a typical day, we would learn English and maths every morning. We have separate arithmetic, spelling, reading and handwriting sessions. Then we also enjoy our creative subjects, such as art, French, PE, science and computing, which usually take place in the afternoons.
On Mondays, we have P.E with our SHARES Coach. The children will also have lots of opportunities to join sports clubs and represent their school this year. It would be great if children could leave their PE kits in school and we will send them home every half term.
For Year 6 children, SATs tests will take place throughout the week, starting on Monday 12th and ending on Thursday 15th May 2025. Please can you make sure that all Year 6 children are in school this week.
